Artefacts from the Iron Age Settlement

The excavations at Sandwick recovered a wealth of artefacts and environmental evidence.  These remains are currently being analysed by a range of specialists to find out more about how the Iron Age inhabitants lived. The objects they made, used and discarded include thousands of pieces of pottery as well as painted pebbles, worked bone, heavy stone tools, chipped quartz tools, iron objects, industrial waste and personal ornaments.
