Everything that we found had to be recorded
The level was used to determine the relative heights of features and things excavated
Detailed plans were drawn on polyester film - a waterproof and stable transparent paper
Plans were drawn using tapes and planning frames
Photographs were taken of all excavated features
All excavated features were also described in writing
Phil set up the wet sieving station, where she examined samples of soil for small finds, bones, seeds, etc
Finds were shown to Amanda, the Finds Supervisor, and their positions recorded before being put into bags and taken up to the temporary finds room for cataloging
