| Most
local authorities in Scotland have archaeological advisors who
fulfill a number of roles. They usually have a responsibility to
monitor planning applications and other proposed developments within
their area. If archaeological work goes ahead, they often monitor
that work. Many of the advisors also hold Sites and Monuments Records,
and many of these can be consulted by the public.
Click the map on the right to find the name and address of the
archaeological advisor in your area. Please note, Dundee City,
Midlothian, East Dunbartonshire and West Lothian do not have archaeological
advisors. |
